The posters I referred to claim to have been banned for winning at games other than blackjack. The point applies there, too. Many casinos (incorrectly) sweat the money not the perceived skill. Feb 04, 2012 Did you ever think that casinos sweat the money, and yes they will ban you if you are winning every time you go into them. I only play craps, and was banned from a couple casinos and the dice taking off me numerous times. Some online casino players worry that if they are lucky to encounter a winning streak or enjoy small wins each day for a period of time that they will be banned from the online casino that they are playing at. While others worry that if they hit a big jackpot, they will not be permitted to login to their player account to withdraw their winnings.

- #3You don't suddenly go from being a 'mug gambler', to being so good at it that a national bookie would ban you. I'm willing to bet there's more to this than simply winning too much, or too often.
Or
He's drumming up publicity for a website he's about to launch on 'How to beat the bookies'.
Give it a week, then delete as appropriate. - #4New advert
'Come to XYZ Bookies! - We love losers like you!' - #5Can't see what's surprising about this.
The bookie lays odds based on what they know, if you keep winning you're proving that you know something they don't.
Would you offer odds to someone who you know to have more knowledge than you? - #6But that's the reality of any business, they are entitled to decide who they do or don't want to take business from just as we as consumers can choose who we give our business to - both parties have to agree to a transaction.
I'd say this about sums it up.
'A spokesman from William Hill said: “It’s nothing to do with showing profit. Mr Harrison and his friends are not the type of people we want in our shops.”' this though annoys me, can you imagine if these guys were in a minority group? 'Not our type of people' should never be written to anyone. >:( >:( - #7You don't suddenly go from being a 'mug gambler', to being so good at it that a national bookie would ban you. it'll most likely be a 'method' that's only for sale on his website, I've seen too many stories like this over the years. expect lots of scanned copies of betting slips as 'proof'
One of them even advertised the Martingale method for roulette and tried to sell it for something ridiculous like £70 or £80 quid. - #8I've found a sure fire way to win at the bookies

Swearing/nsfw - #9Nothing new my grandfather was banned from bookies & bingo halls in the late 70's early 80's for winning too much money. He died in 1990 and the money left in his will was all from his gambling.

I would offer them a job. - #11Used to know a guy who was regularly banned from high-street bookies.
I'd imagine he'd be happy as a pig in shit, these days, with the rise of online betting.
He used to have 2 huge ring-binders full of stat's about horses, he'd only ever bet on races where almost all the runners were in his records and he used to pay more attention to the races he didn't bet on so he could add those stat's to his database.
Eventually he bought himself a laptop and spent months entering all the data into a gigantic spreadsheet. - #12Very easy to have a bookies account closed, dont have to win very much either.
Why should the bookies take your bets if you keep winning.?
A bookies doesn't have to take any bet. they can place restrictions on your stake and odds if they want as well. it's nothing new. hard part for serious gamblers is getting a bet on. - #13Used to know a guy who was regularly banned from high-street bookies.

It's far harder to get banned from the high street really, as this relies on the staff taking enough notice of all their punters and actually giving a shit. Online is a different ball game altogether. If your account is profitable, bye bye. Simple as that. Although pinnacle sports claim that they never close accounts, I'm pretty sure I've read of cases where they have. That's why most serious punters use betting exchanges like betfair and betdaq. The house has nothing to lose by winning punters since they take a commission percentage off every transaction. - #14I tend spread my winnings over different betting companies. Accounts on Paddy power, Betfair, Betvictor, Willhill, Ladbrokes etc, to stop me from getting banned. I don't bet on horse racing either.
I think you only get banned if you constantly win £1000s? I mean if you were making a profit of a few hundred a year say I doubt any of them give a shit. - #15Many post saying they CAN - Well of course they CAN, but isn't that missing the point.
They are happy to take your money when you are losing but as soon as you start winning you can FO!
Nice! - #16Many post saying they CAN - Well of course they CAN, but isn't that missing the point.

I don't think anybody is missing the point. As you say they are happy to take your money when you are losing...that is the point of a bookies, just like casinos as well. - #17I'd say this about sums it up.

Interesting; sounds like they...note the plural...have indeed been running a system; I used to work with an inveterate gambler on the nags and he gave me the run-down of the systems he knew....and of course the bookies know them too, and when they notice a group running them they'll all get barred. - #18I think with toe emergence of sites like Betfair, individuals are acting like bookies themselves with little or no risk to themselves.
Groups go around snapping up early prices offered by the bookies pushing the price down and then laying it off on betfair.

hello there... I saw your post and fortunately I pass through this one it might help you answer your question.. The myth Some players think that a winning streak is the fastest way to get banned in an online casino—that this is not permitted because the house is losing a considerable amount. Others, to be more specific, those who won a big jackpot, even fear that they might not be able to log-in to their accounts right after they withdraw all their winnings—as if the simple act of winning is a curse or a preventive measure. As a result, there are members who would set a so-called “winning limit” when they are getting favorable results. They would stop themselves from enjoying live games online to protect their accounts from being locked. The irrational fear of winning becomes even more intense from stories and hearsays of other players who were unjustly banned simply because they are perform well in casino gaming. Is there any truth in these beliefs? Do these notions have factual basis? The truth Needless to say, the above-mentioned beliefs are no less than pure myths. You cannot be banned merely because of winning. You cannot be prevented from accessing your account just because your online blackjack strategies work. You cannot be banned simply because your slot games winnings steadily increase. Hope this one help you...

Following on from the above, no you cant get banned from a Casino for winning but you can get banned if they believe you are using tools to aid your play. I wont go into details of the kind of tools that could be used but analysing patterns of play can identify this. Aaron www.highstack.co.uk

I'm banned from casinos in New Zealand and the UK. It CAN happen, even if you DON'T cheat! Don't believe me? Check out my blogs at casinobarred dot com AND howtobeatthecasinos dot com That's why I started those blogs - to pass on advice to others on how to beat the casinos since I can no longer visit those land based casinos myself. Playing online is no drama however.
